            The colors of the flag date back from 1270. They are these of the banners of the Magyar Kingdom. They are the national colors of Hungary from about this time. This flag is inspired from the French Tricolor & was first displayed in 1848 (a year of revolutions in Europe) by all Hungarians who aspired to get independent from the Austrian Empire. It finally became the national flag when the country became fully independent in 1918. In 1949 it was adorned with a comunist emblem that was dropped in 1957 after the political events that occured in Budapest in 1956. The present pattern was adopted on 1 OCTOBER 1957.

I hear here & there MAGYARORSZAG would like to get the Ukri Oblast of Zakarpat for the so-called "reason" this oblast is populated with Magyars. THIS IS JUST FALSE.

The Ukri Oblast of Zakarpat is populated 95% by Ruthenians (violet), NOT by Magyars (green).
That's THE REASON WHY the Ukri Oblast of Zakarpat shall become either a new autonomous oblast in Ukraine or a new fully independent State. But CERTAINLY NOT ceded to Magyarország.


I DO swear I M NOT anti-Magyar at all but the STUPID IDEA of wanting to RE-create the pre-Trianon Magyarország is just TOO DANGEROUS.
Notice the Ukri Oblast of Zakarpat is colored ORANGE on this "Greater Hungary" map.
So.... do Magyarország want to declare war to Slovakia + Romania + Serbia + Croatia to get back to 1867 ????
It could become a real question....

NOTE about Carpathian Ruthenia / Subcarpathian Rus :
The Ukri Oblast of Zakarpat was full part of Čekoslovakia from 1920 till 1945.
In October 1944 the region was occupied by the Red Army.
On 29 June 1945, Čekoslovak President Edvard Beneš signed a treaty formally ceding the area.
It was then annexed into the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic as Zakarpat Oblast.


Subcarpathian Rus (red, district 22) - Electoral districts (Chamber of Deputies) in Čekoslovakia 1925, 1929, 1935.

So, if the Ukri Oblast of Zakarpat should be retroceded, it shall be to Slovakia, but certainly not to Hungary.




Expansion of Hungary (ONLY GRACE TO THE 3° REICH) in 1938, 1939, 1940, 1941 (until 1944).

So, THE ONLY TIME the Ukri Oblast of Zakarpat has been Magyar, it was durin the Nazi era.

So, it is EXTREMELY WEIRD some so called "anti-nazi" / "pro-Russian" persons DO WISH this situation BACK....
