            This is the last former sovietic republic that has adopted its own new flag after the colapse of the Soviet Union. The present colors might have been picked up from the fascist flag of 1953 but another explanation is that it is the Iranian flag up side down as Tajik is a Persian language and as there would be linx betwin the two peoples. Red stands for the unity of the country, white represents cotton production and green is for agriculture. The crown stands for the sovereignty of the country & the seven stars symbolize friendship betwin all nationalities. The present pattern was adopted on 24 NOVEMBER 1992.
