        The flag loox like both Kenya and Sudan (and reminds also the colors of the 1956 flag of Sudan as well) but it's actualy the flag of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement created in 1983. Black represents the people itself, red the blood shed for the independence, green the potential of agriculture. The blue triangle recalls the Nile while the yello star stands for the wish of an optimistic future for the country. Pleaze notice the name "South Sudan" is absolutely idiot because it's its name in Arab (Sudd Sudan) which does not mean at all neither "Sud Soudan" in French nor "South Sudan" in English but "Swampy Sudan". Indeed : the Arab word for "swamp" is "sudd" while the Arab word for "south" is "janub". This flag was finaly hoisted after a war of independence of 55 yearz that killed + than 2000000 people in South Sudan, the muslim Arabs havin taken part even in slavery against the people of South Sudan at least till 2000, as considerin the people of South Sudan as "untermenschen". The present pattern was adopted on 9 JANUARY 2005 and kept for the independence day on 9 JULY 2011. By the way I DO INSIST they realy should choze another name insted of this unseemly "South Sudan".
