            Mixture of the French Tricolor & the African colors. The order is the same as Mali as Sénégal tried to constitute a federation with this country....  but it didnt work. The three bands represent the national unity, democracy & equality. They can as well be seen as a recall of the motto "Un peuple Un but Une foi" (One people One goal One faith) which is also exactly the same motto as Mali.
