The
red field stands for the Kirghiz national heroe Manas the Noble
while the 40 rays of the sun represent the 40 constitutin tribes of
Kirghizia. The dezign in the center of the sun is a traditional
Tündük. The Tündük is uzed as a chimney open in the top part of
Kirghiz yurts where this people traditionaly uzed to live in. The
present pattern was adopted on 3 MARCH 1992.
